Dr. Rita Mukhtar is Professor of Clinical Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at UCSF. She leads a research program focused on lobular breast cancer focused on surgical outcomes, predictors of response to therapy, and tumor surveillance. Dr. Mukhtar is the PI of the PLUMB study, a prospective multicenter study evaluating serial ctDNA in monitoring treatment response in patients with metastatic invasive lobular carcinoma. She is the co-chair of the Locoregional Working Group for the I-SPY2 Trial.
